A Partnership in Education

SICI has been catalyst in changing the face of higher education & research corridor between India & Canada. While sharing best wishes on Canada Day (July 1) with SICI’s Canadian member institutions and friends, Honourable Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank ji, Minister, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, penned down his thoughts on this amazing engagement.

SICI’s esteemed member Concordia University (CU) awards 7 honorary doctorates and Dr Vikas Swarup, MEA, is one of the honorands!

CU plans to feature the honorary doctorate recipients as part of CU Celebrate, a virtual celebration of its graduates. Besides being a virtual convocation, CU considers it as an opportunity to recognize its 6,244 new graduates from Concordia’s four faculties and the School of Graduate studies. The honorary degree recipients represent STEM outreach, sustainable industry, Indigenous language preservation, journalism and modern dance.

India Rankings 2020 (NIRF)

Hon’ble Sh. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Minister of Human Resource Development, Govt of India, e-released National Institutional Ranking Framework India rankings 2020 on June 11. Heartiest congratulations to our esteemed members IIT Madras, on securing No. 1 position under NIRF in the overall category, followed by IIT Delhi (3), IIT Bombay (4), IIT Kharagpur (5), IIT Kanpur (6), IIT Guwahati (7), Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi (8), IIT Roorkee (9) and Banaras Hindu University (10).
