Prof. Anil Mehrotra, Secretary-Treasurer of SICI (2016-18, 2018-20) and representing the University of Calgary, has been elected as the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE), for a 3-year term, 2018-21. CSChE is a national professional association and a constituent society of the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC). Prof. Mehrotra is also a Fellow of CIC.

Shastri Institute extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Prof. Asha Pande, a Shastri Fellow who recently passed away.  

Dr. Asha Pande was a professor and the first Indian woman to receive the Légion d'honneur . She was the founder-director of Rajasthan University's Master in European Studies programme and heads the Department of Dramatics at Rajasthan University, and Center for French and Francophone Studies. She has been honored for promoting French language in India.
