Course Description
The course will introduce the concept of natural hazards and their impact on human lives and the environment. It aims to strengthen the perception of disaster risk management by providing adequate knowledge in the context of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction - 2030. The course will demonstrate numerical solutions to identify the hazard and assess the risk effectively and efficiently. This course offers students the ability to develop disaster preparedness and mitigation strategies. The course focuses on the analysis of disaster risk reduction strategies from an ethical perspective and will provide a comprehensive overview of the legal and institutional frameworks for disaster risk management. Course Director
Dr. Vignesh, Assistant Professor from SRM Institute of Science and Technology has acquired a PhD in Natural Hazards and Disaster Studies. His area of interest is Occupational Health Emergency and Disaster Management. He has been appointed as a Work Group Member for the development of curriculum on Disaster Management under the banner of India Universities Institution Network for Disaster Reduction, Ministry of Home Affairs. He is playing a leading role on the UK Going Global Project for the development of the PG Course on Disaster Management.

Assessment
- One online test will be conducted by the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute at the end of this Course using 50 multiple-choice questions.
- Those who successfully clear the course evaluation will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.
Cancellation Policy
