The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute invites agriculture students and researcher scholars to submit papers for the Best Paper Award in One Health. The research must contribute to a theory that has pragmatic relevance. The paper should fall within the One Health regime. Field/case studies, empirical methods, and analytical modelling are encouraged. Papers will be reviewed by a panel of experts in the relevant field.
The competition aims to identify outstanding papers in the field of agricultural sciences. SICI will publish the winning paper in its newsletter and website.
Eligibility
- The applicant should be from One Health and the allied domain
- The publishing date of the journal must be between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023;
- Papers co-authored by students and faculty are eligible;
- A paper jointly co-authored by a Canadian and Indian researcher will be seen favorably.
- Individuals may not be the first author on more than one submission to the competition.
Application Process
- A cover letter to the Programme Officer clearly stating the paper's significance to the discipline, contribution in conceiving and carrying out the research, and evidence of why the paper should be considered for the award.
- A copy of the published paper with an indication of the published date;
- The cover letter should be a maximum of 350 words, no longer than one page.
Evaluation Criteria
Papers will be evaluated on overall quality and potential significance to the field based on the information requested in the cover letter from the first author.
- Theoretical contribution in terms of the research question being investigated, and filling the gap in the literature-20 marks
- The methodology adopted – 10 marks
- Practical relevance for life– 10 marks
- Paves way for future research – 5 marks
- Writing style– 5 marks
Value of Award: The winner of the competition will receive a prize of INR 10,000/-
