Dynamics of Higher Education in India and Canada: Vice Chancellors’ Summit
Envisaging Greater Collaborations: Opportunities to Network
University Presidents and Vice-Chancellors from SICI’s 147 member institutions are gathering for a two-day Summit, which is aimed at providing key opportunities to create institutional linkages. The Summit seeks to contribute in a unique and timely way to advancing SICI’s continuing mission of connecting universities in Canada and India. The Summit seeks to contribute actively towards SICI’s bi-national educational mandate through further developing collaboration in higher education in furtherance of the work accomplished at the meetings of 2011, 2013, and earlier this year. The Summit is funded by the Government of India, through MHRD, and is also in recognition of the recent Golden Jubilee of the Shastri Institute.
We are delighted to inform that 14 Institutions from Canadian Member Council have confirmed their participation out of which Presidents of 5 Institutions are bringing a delegation ranging from 2 to 8 delegates to New Delhi for attending these Summits. This delegation mix also comprises of Vice-Provost - International, Academic/Research leaders from these institutions who are looking to forge partnerships and collaborations with their Indian counterparts. From the Indian side too, there are 50 plus institutions such as IITs, IIMs, NITS who are going to be participating in these events in Delhi. The purpose is to create an awareness of the opportunities for academic and research collaborations and partnerships between India and Canada.

Important points to note –
- The Summit is open for SICI’s Member Institutions ONLY.
- Given the nature of this Summit, only Vice-Chancellors, Presidents, Rectors, Rectrice and Directors of SICI’s Canadian and Indian members are invited to attend the event.
- Walk-ins are not allowed.
