International Conference on Engaging India & Canada: Gandhian Approach to Sustainable Development Goals
The Shastri Institute is proud to state that its International Conference was a highly successful event. Held in New Delhi on 29th April at India Habitat Centre, the Conference adopted the theme based on sustainable growth in the context of life and vision of Mahatma Gandhi by bringing in his perspectives and values relevant in United Nation’s 17 aspirational Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. N. Saravana Kumar IAS Joint Secretary (ICC), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Prof. Irfan Habib, Professor Emeritus, Department of History, Aligarh Muslim University and Prof. Upendra Baxi, Emeritus Professor of Law in Development, University of Warwick, United Kingdom and Former Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi were the notable speakers at the Conference.
The Conference focused on the applicability and adaptability of Gandhian ideology and perspectives to achieve the best and the ultimate outcomes as envisaged by United Nations for its Sustainable Development Goals. The aim of the Conference was to imbibe knowledge among scholars, researchers, young faculty members and students from Gandhian viewpoint and its interpretence and relevance in the contemporary world.
